The Holidays are here. While some people are joyful and ready to welcome family members into their homes, others are having a hard time. Many people are feeling lost in this season.
I’ve Been There Before.
I know the feeling. When the holiday season seems dark and is to be endured rather than enjoyed. When you want to hide from the world for a long minute. When you have to deal with all the questions: Why are you still single? Why aren't you with your family during Christmas time? Why haven't you graduated and found a job?
An overwhelming presence of distress and anxiety surrounds you. I know this feeling...
You Are Not Alone.
Feelings though valid they too fade away. I can testify to that. There is freedom when we just release it all before God. And today I want to bring this word of hope: God understands. He sees it all. He hurts when you hurt. He understands all the tears. He is so near you, even when you can not touch Him.
I too have struggled with anxiety before, and let me tell you what I've learned. We must first come to a place of complete surrender to God and His plan of healing- even if we cannot see or understand what’s going on in our hearts, mind, and soul. God’s heart always longs for restoration. He longs to give you a hug on the inside where fingers cannot go.
Instead of crying “Oh why, oh why, oh God?”, I want to invite you to pray when you feel anxious. To say “but God you are loving. You see me. You long to restore”
Use Prayer As A Weapon.
Before running to anything or anyone else, PRAY.
Prayer is an invitation for God to come in and partner with you. Prayer together with God's word creates an atmosphere that the enemy has no ground. So when you are feeling overwhelmed, remember to abide in Gods word. It surely is sharper than a double-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12).
These are verses that speak to me when I get overwhelmed:
"And he said to them, this kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer.” Mark 9:29
"Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven." Psalm 107:28-30
"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Mark 11:24
"Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it. John 14:13-14
As you read through these verses, may God speak to you as you seek Him. And may you follow through and let go of what burdens your soul. May God give you wisdom and discernment to teach you how He wants you to pray and for what He wants you to pray for specifically.

May this holiday season be filled with healing, pure love, pure laughter and light instead of darkness.
Hugging you with prayers and love.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.
